Kristen works with small and medium-sized nonprofits and foundations in transition, helping them identify the roadblocks that impede progress, build new systems to support goals, and move beyond putting out fires to plan the road ahead. She brings particular expertise in nonprofit finance, operations and accounting, bringing technical and legal issues to life in a way that makes sense and is integrated across functional areas in the organization. Kristen’s experience includes leadership at grantmaking, international, economic development, environmental and human rights organizations. For many years she taught in the UW fundraising and nonprofit management certificate program, as well as volunteered on boards of directors and finance committees.
